My sister is coming over from Sweden for a few days and we are meeting up in Edinburgh tomorrow.
I've been running around like a headless chicken all evening trying to pack but failing rather miserably. I'm still not done! Now you may very well be wondering what the hell I am doing blogging when I should be getting on with the more pressing matters at hand but I just needed to take a break from it all. The flat is so cold that getting changed is something rather perilous, you are risking freezing your ass off within seconds of exposing naked skin. So I'm sitting here in front of my compy to warm up, I've got one of those synergy heaters next to me blasting out much needed heat but only within a very short radius.
I know it is going to be freezing in Edinburgh cause I lived there for two years back in the 90s and I well remember the ice cold killer winds in the winter.
I'm thinking frocks teamed with a thermal vest, three pairs of tights, two cardigans, two scarves, thermal gloves, a wig & hat combo and that's just for staying indoors ;)
I'm sure I will be fine. I had just hoped for a slightly warmer Easter in one of the most beautiful cities in the UK.
We went for a super quick jaunt up to the park earlier to feed the birds and snap the daily outfit pics.
It may look as if I'm happy in these pics but truth is I'm almost crying from being cold.
If this crap weather carries on, we may very well have to start taking indoor pics.
Today I was wearing my Afghani dress, as it happens its last outing was also on a rather freezing day last year.
I guess I better get back to the packing, eh?!
Hope you will all have a lovely Easter weekend when it rolls around & I'll see you when I get back.
This post was brought to you by The Easter Hunny Bunny...I jest :)
Loads of love,
Jennie

P.S. Thanks to Curtise for pointing out the musical instrument faux-pas in my last post ;)

Hey, creepy singing rabbit: I made rabbit for Easter dinner once.
Love the Afghani dress, the patterns are crazy good.
Have a lovely break in Scotland, and say hi to it for me -- I love it there! Maybe you'll get lucky and a mild streak will hit? Oh who am I kidding, here in NY its the same thing, I'm constantly freezing! Love your dress, so colourful and nice for layering (who thought we'd be thinking of layering now? Boo!)

You look sooooo beautiful. Bundle up and have fun with your sis!
Your Afghani dress looks lovely. and you look lovely in ity both here and in your previous post "Walking in a Winter Wonderland". I couldn't miss the large pendant you're wearing in these photos and was wondering if there was any special meaning attached to it.
When I read that you were off to Edinburgh I immediately checked to see how far Edinburgh is from Glascow where Sarah who writes the UK Fashion and Personal Style Blog | We Shop Therefore We Are and LoveWalking | Adventures of a city girl converted to the great outdoors lives. Quoting from her March 24th, 2013 post: "PS Until the weather improves all photos will feature me hovering by, or clinging to, a radiator!"
I think having more that one pair of thermals including thermal glove liners and socks in addition to a super-warm hat, gloves and scarf might be a good plan.
Just one last couple of thoughts on the Easter Bunny and Easter Eggs: Does a rooster hump the Easter Bunny which then lays the eggs? Does the Easter Bunny hump a chicken and put the eggs out for adoption? If they hatch are they little bunnies with beaks and wings or little chicks with big ears and cotton-tails? I was wondering how eggsactly that workes but maybe there are many ways. It's marvelous that you'll get to see your sister over Easter! I sure hope the weather improves and all of you have an eggscellent Easter weekend too!
P.S.: I love the blue in your hair and am very much looking forward to seeing an Edinburgh indoor outfit photo showing your thermal vest lined frocks, three-layered tights, double scarfs. cardigans and the wig and hat combo :)
What a lovely dress! It looks warm, though nothing is quite warm enough at the moment, is it? Hope you havlovey rest time in Edinburgh with your sister, it's a gorgeous city.
Ooh, I sound like a right old know-it-all! I just feel sorry for cellists, they never seem to get as much attention as violinists! xxxx
Dearest Curtise, I'd rather be corrected by a friend than continue looking like a silly-ass for not knowing my string instruments properly :)
This Afghani dress is very beautiful. Hope you will enjoy your stay at Edinburgh in spite of cold weather.
Oh I love this look, this is my favourite of your outfits so far: lovely ethnic dress, massive pendant and I LOVE your wig. That colour and length really suits you!
I'm so sick of the cold. I feel really peaky and listless and I'm sure it's the weather. xxx
Great dress!! Wow, I can't imagine it being that cold. I was literally just sitting here wondering if my feet were getting chilly and if I should put on socks... It's 70 degrees outside and 74 inside with the heat on.
Have fun with your sis and don't freeze your tits off!
Becky :)
I love Edinburgh, it's where I got married. Even though I consider myself a winter person, I am so fed up of this horrible cold too. Have fun in Scotland. Xx
I so love that dress on you, especially with your purple hair and stunner of a necklace. Bundle up, and enjoy your trip!
I hope you get a chance to defrost soon but in the meantime have a blast in Scotland, I loved it there!! Time with your sis is rare and should be totally enjoyed! This afghan dress is so pretty and I bet you have thermals on underneath.
XXOO
i love that dress. i also love your new hair colour. have a great break. i hope you get a chance to go shopping. love lucy
LOVE the hair and highlights! Have fun in Scotland (always wanted to go there).
Hey look.... how to get on methadone, bet that's just what you wanted! Handy if you were visiting Glasgow rather than Edinburgh. You look great, that dress is stunning, such a wonderful print. Are Afghani dresses hard to find? The syrup looks awesome and I love the boots too xxx
What an incredible dress! And I love that pendant, though it must be heavy to wear. You look stunning and so exotic in the cold.
Miss Simmonds, I had to delete a shed load of spam earlier, barstewards have they nothing better to do than to clog up blogs up with pharma & gambling links... the shitebags!
I was actually surprised at how few scagheids I spotted on the streets of Edinburgh this time. When I lived there for a couple of years in the mid 90s the place was riddled with skanky toothless wonders that would flick snotters at you if you didn't put money in their McDonalds cup.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE that dress- would froth at the mouth to get something like that into my clutches. : )
You look stunning. I mean for how "cold" you are, you look HOT. Sizzle sizzle, Swedish cheekbones, hot! But I see your pink little hands and know you must be so cold! Have fun with your sis, and hope your Easter was good too! xo Bella Q
There are no words to describe how much I adore the print on that dress. Gorgeous!
I'm so sorry to hear your flat is cold, I've lived in my share of cold flats (although I don't think our winters are anywhere as bad as yours) and all you can do is sit snuggled in blankets trying to keep warm. I ever remember I used to wear a woolly hat to bed! This Afgani dress is beautiful, thanks for braving the cold to share with us. I will be crossing my fingers that you get sunshine soon!
