Camera Woes & Cosmic Ordering

Today I've traversed the length and breadth London Town looking for a camera doctor for my snappy friend that decided to have a midlife crises at the beginning of the week.
Once the patient had been checked into hospital and I had been told that it could take up to four weeks before he may be better again, I totally panicked!
It is quite impossible for me to live without a camera for up to four weeks,
impossible I say!
Besides critically needing it for work purposes, I feel totally lost without my camera cause it chums me everywhere...you just don't know when the next 'must-capture' will occur,  it can happen when you are doing something quite ordinary and dull like popping to the post office.
So when I got back home I threw myself on the compy (it did hurt a little but I am fine) and ordered a replacement on the Jessops website, to be picked up in store on the same day.
Huzzah, thought I...in two hours I will be cameraless no more, sadly I was wrong!
I jumped on a bus and after a 45min ride found myself being told by the dude at the store that due to an stock update error, they didn't actually have the camera I had ordered in stock but that I could have their old fusty display model for the same price...
thanks but NO THANKS!
Still, I'm not one to give up that easily so I got hubby to order one from another Jessops in town.
Another 45min bus-journey later and lo-and-behold, the exact same thing is repeated in the other store.
I'm again told that I'm either facing a three day wait for the model that I am after or that I can buy one of their greasy display models at no additional discount....
the barefaced arse cheek of it!
By now invisible fume is bellowing from my nostrils cause I provided both stores with my telephone number on-line when making the orders, so they should have called or at the very least texted me to tell me that the camera wasn't in stock, utter slack-ass behavior, they deserve to be slapped in the face with a rotten cucumber or perhaps even several cause I'm in that sort of mood!
Anyway, on the way back home I called hubby to have a moan down the phone and he said that he'd try to order yet another one and then give the store a call just to make sure it was there.
So hopefully tomorrow morning I shall be the proud owner of a brand spanking new camera...third time lucky?!
Before my other snapmonster decided to have its breakdown we managed to shoot a second lookbook for the shop.
We entitled  this one 'Indian Summer'.
Yes, autumn may be lurking just around the corner here in the northern hemisphere but I am cosmically ordering an Indian Summer for us all, lets see how that one works out ;)
I've just added lot's of stunning vintage frocks to the shop and I'm slowly wrapping my head around the whole process of running it.
Here are the 'Indian Summer' lookbook pics...
All the dresses and the skirt above are already available from the shop.
If all goes to plan with my new camera tomorrow we will be doing yet another photo shoot this weekend in a slightly more dramatic setting this time, I hope it doesn't rain...maybe I should cosmically order a sunny Bank Holiday weekend  too while I'm at it ;)
All the best to you my fabulous friends!

Ruddy reflections & fabulous frocks

I was so intensely happy to see the back of last week, I could have cried tears of joy on my way home from work.
It was just one of those weeks that dragged on like a vexatious Eastenders omnibus or a jukebox stuck in a brain-numbingly ceaseless loop of Steps "greatest hits".
Friday night was celebrated in a flurry of fajitas and non-alcoholic cider and today we went for a relaxing stroll along the Thames.
We made a quick detour to Brick Lane to take in a few of the vintage shops that are sprinkled in that area but for once I didn't buy a thread which for me is almost unheard of behaviour.
Never mind I've got a car boot sale to go to in a few hours and I daresay I shall not return from it empty handed.
The weekend is zipping past like a blue bottle on bennies and Monday already feels uncomfortably near.
It feels like time speeds up at the weekend and there are so many things that I want to cram into those two gold dust days.
I just never quite seem manage it all & this frankly bums me out somewhat.
Too much running around like a headless chicken to amass bits of paper with some old crone with a crown printed upon them and it's not even as if I've got a well stuffed mattress with mullah...OH NO!
As quick as I can make them, some other fecker claims them...tax, rent, bills, bills, bills!
I wish I could live outside this detestable loop, break free from the perpetual hamster wheel & move
somewhere nice with lots of trees, far far away from Starfucks designer coffee shops & groTesco.
Anyway enough of my rantings, here are a few snaps taken during our lovely riverside stroll...
I'm wearing: Vintage 60s psychedelic paisley day dress, DKNY longsleeved top, ribbed tights, vintage 80s cowboy boots, wide leather belt, vintage 70s camera bag & vintage 80s sunnies.
Here's my lovely hubby wearing a folksy top that I bought for him at last Sundays car boot sale. In the background you can see 'the shard' or Mammons butt plug as I like to call it.
FROCK ON!
In my last post I showed you some of my latest frockquisitions & I'll end this post with some pics of the rest of my recent frocking loot...
Have a fantastic Sunday peeps ;)
Lot's of love,

Spring Mourning

The weather here in Ol' Blighty has been pretty friggning dreadful for weeks now.
The sweet fragrance of lilacs that usually fill the warm spring air on our balcony have been overpowered by the dodgy smell coming from a clogged drainpipe next door.
Our drainpipe kamikazeed off the wall during a ferocious rainstorm last week, so now when it rains we have a waterfall display from the roof onto the balcony & into the kitchen if you happen to leave the door open.
Och, grumble grumble!
Despite it being a dreich and grey morning, I still braved an excursion to the car boot sales yesterday and I am very happy that I did cause came back with vintage dress treasures galore, every cloud has a silver lining as they say!
Last night I spent taking pics for my upcoming eBay auctions and today I played dress-up with all my new purchases :)
Besides frocks I bought a stunning gothic maxi skirt that I wore today.
Opening the curtains this morning and peering out onto yet another day of dreichness made me feel decidedly morose, so I decided to wear something to mourn spring...
Vintage 70s maxi length underskirt, sequin cami top, metallic swirl patterned mesh long-sleeved top, Demonia heels, leopard print tights, Frocktasia PVC headdress and DIYed chiffon & sequin cape poncho made from an Indian hippie skirt. All clothing items were purchased from various car boot sales bar my wig that came from PAKcosmetics.
Here are some gratuitous shots of some of the gorgeous garb up for grabs in my current eBay auctions ;)

AWESOMELY HOT 90S BLACK VELVET MINI DRESS:

The Egyptian snake charmers daughter

Frock number two has travelled all the way from New Zealand...
The Frock:
I was sent this stunning vintage wrap dress by bona fide frock goddess Helga in July last year.
I often start planning a holiday wardrobe long before I'm even planning a holiday and as soon as I clapped eyes on this beauty I knew it had to come with me on my next magical mystery tour and so it did ;)
It is labelled 'Oriental Crafts'.
This frock ticks all the boxes in my opinion with its comfy & chic cut, stunning brick red colour and amazing print.
The Trimmings:
Also featured in the pics are a pair of vintage 70s St Michael raffia wedge sandals that I bought from a local charity shop, a pleathora of jingly-jangly bangly things that I've picked up from a variety of markets & boot sales here in London.
The Hair:
Two synthetic ponytails bought from PAK cosmetics, attached with the help of one thousand and one kirby grips...it certainly felt like that many anyway ;)
It has to be said that it was a bit of a pain in the proverbial to do this at five in the morning.
The Hindsight:
I could have saved myself a lot of bother if I had only brought a wig instead.
******
Have a great week peeps, thank goodness it's only four days til Friday!
Lot's of love,

The Autumn U-turn

Hope you've all had a mighty fine weekend?!
This morning I was up with the lark to get the early bird bargains at the boot sale.
On my travels I actually managed to get lost & had to call my hubby to guide me in the right direction.
I hit the boot sale an hour after it had opened but despite my tardiness, I was not disappointed with my hoard.
Three of my favourite sellers were there, so I came away with a bounty of vintage frocks, yay!
Travelling home was like sitting next to the devil & his twin in a sauna whilst wearing a rubber bodysuit, the bus was absolutely heaving and naturally everyone who had come from the boot sale was laden with bags, wheeled trolleys, paintings & even furniture, ¡Ay, caramba!
Never mind, I'm back home now...
all bathed & smelling of roses with a well deserved cold beverage at hand.
Here are some pictures that were taken the other day when hubby and I went for a stroll along the urban nature trail.
Earlier that morning I had been pouring over the super cool sisters of the black moon website & their awesome eBay auctions.
I think it is more than evident that I felt rather inspired by their bohemian lusciousness!
What I am wearing:
Vintage 80s paisley patterned skirt
Pink Soda floral print blouse
Vintage 80s tribal patterned waistcoat
Western studded leather belt
Vintage leather boots
DIYed tassle necklace
That's all for now peeps!
All the best to you :)
Lot's of love,
Jennie
